The Adult Men’s Anger Management Program increases a participant’s knowledge of what non-violent problem-solving techniques are and when to use them in different situations. The program also assists participants in the development of self-control mechanisms, communication skills and confidence in expressing anger appropriately.
The program consists of an introductory session and eight sessions that incorporate exercises, and the development of individualized anger control plans. Ongoing support and guidance can be provided, on an individual basis, by the program facilitators.
Goals:
To facilitate the skills and knowledge pertaining to:
1. Identifying anger triggers
2. Exploring anger styles
3. Identifying high-risk situations and feelings
4. Methods of coping with anger
5. Positive and negative short term and long term consequences of anger
6. Aggression and violence
7. Coping with stress
8. More effective communication
Learn to be assertive! Stand up for your personal rights without violating the rights of others. Being assertive is dealing with anger without dominating, humiliating or degrading others.
